Hello, my name is Laura Yelton, and I am the Administrator of the Montgomery County Health Department & Home Health Agency. I was born and raised in Montgomery City, graduating from Montgomery County R-2 in 1992. I have been in the healthcare field for 26 years, earning my nursing degree from Central Methodist College in 1996. I began my career with Montgomery County Health Department as the Director of Nursing in 2013, after working as a nurse for 17 years at Mercy Hospital in St Louis. At Mercy, I worked in the Adult Intensive Care Unit for nine years and was a nursing supervisor in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit for eight years. I took the job as Administrator at Montgomery County Health Department in July of 2019. I love working with the community in which I am from; serving and caring for our local residents is a true pleasure. I have enjoyed expanding the public health services we offer at Montgomery County Health Department and growing our home health agency by leaps and bounds since I started in 2013. My husband Mike and I have four sons, Blake, Kyle, Luke, and Chase. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Throughout the many changes I have always enjoyed serving and meeting the needs of our community. My husband and I are both lifelong residents of Montgomery County and have three grown sons and a daughter-in-law.
