Laura Yelton | RN

Hello, my name is Laura Yelton, and I am the Administrator of the Montgomery County Health Department & Home Health Agency. I was born and raised in Montgomery City, graduating from Montgomery County R-2 in 1992. I have been in the healthcare field for 26 years, earning my nursing degree from Central Methodist College in 1996. I began my career with Montgomery County Health Department as the Director of Nursing in 2013, after working as a nurse for 17 years at Mercy Hospital in St Louis. At Mercy, I worked in the Adult Intensive Care Unit for nine years and was a nursing supervisor in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit for eight years. I took the job as Administrator at Montgomery County Health Department in July of 2019. I love working with the community in which I am from; serving and caring for our local residents is a true pleasure. I have enjoyed expanding the public health services we offer at Montgomery County Health Department and growing our home health agency by leaps and bounds since I started in 2013. My husband Mike and I have four sons, Blake, Kyle, Luke, and Chase. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Donna Longstreet | Office Manager

Hi, my name is Donna Longstreet. I am the Office Manger at Montgomery County Health Department. I have been with the health department for 39 years, starting in 1983 as the Home Health Clerk/WIC Clerk/Family Planning Clerk. I became the office manager in 1990. There have been many changes over the years in the health department, from originally being the Montgomery County Nursing Service in the basement of the courthouse, passing a mill tax to become a health department, to building the current office, not to mention all the different services added over the years. Throughout the many changes I have always enjoyed serving and meeting the needs of our community. My husband and I are both lifelong residents of Montgomery County and have three grown sons and a daughter-in-law. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking for and spending time with our family and friends.

Hilary Benney | Home Health Nurse

Hi, my name is Hilary Benney and I am a Home Health Nurse here at Montgomery County Health Department. I was born and raised in Montgomery County, I love serving in the community I was raised in, seeing so many familiar faces.  I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Missouri in 2008. I have experience in oncology as well as women’s and children’s health nursing prior to working in home health. In my free time I enjoy camping with my husband Dustin and our three kids Jackson, Hadley and Cooper.

Michelle Brooks | Receptionist

Hi, my name is Michelle Brooks, and I live in Audrain County. I am happy to be a part of the team at Montgomery County Health Department and began my duties here in February of 2022. I am a Medical Receptionist and also serve as the WIC Coordinator. I have been married for 33 years and have two wonderful grown sons and a daughter-in-law who has blessed us with a grandson who is 14 months old! I enjoy meeting new people and serving the community with all that our facility has to offer. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends and enjoy time at our lake home.

Kim Williams | Home Health Biller

Hi, my name is Kim WIlliams, I accepted the position of Home Health Biller in January 2023. I am excited to learn new skills and have amazing co-workers to work with. I was born in San Bernardino, Cailfornia but spent most of my teenage years and all of my adult life in Montgomery County. I have been married to my husband Mike for 27 years and have 2 stepsons and 1 stepdaughter. We have 5 grandchildren whom I enjoy spending time with. In my spare time I enjoy my dogs Piper and Dolly and trail riding and camping with my horse Kash.

Melissa Eaklor | RN

Hi! My name is Melissa Eaklor.  I am the Public Health Nurse here at the Montgomery County Health Department.  My duties include immunizations, communicable disease/animal bites, blood draws, foot clinic and telepsych clinic.  I am a CPR instructor and offer CPR classes to the community.  I attended elementary school in New Florence and graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1991.  I received my RN degree from Jewish Hospital College of Nursing and Allied Health in 1997. Throughout my nursing career I have worked in Orthopedics, Labor and Deliver/Post Partum, a local doctor’s office and was Assistant Director of Nursing at a local nursing home.  I started with the Montgomery County Health Department in July 2017 as a home health nurse and continue to see patients in their homes from time to time. I love working in my home community and building relationships with my patients and their families.  My husband Eddie (Elm) and I live in Montgomery City.  We have one son, Austin, who lives in Columbia.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Courtney James | RN

Hello! My name is Courtney. I am a Home Health RN at Montgomery County Health Department. I graduated from nursing school a little later in life at the age of 35 and have been at MCHD for the past three years. I was born and raised in Montgomery City, and I am so excited to be able to take care of new and familiar faces around the community. My husband and I have raised our three boys here and love our small town. In my spare time I enjoy being in the sun, reading a good book, or floating in the water.

Lindsey Janes | LPN

Hi, my name is Lindsey Janes. I have worked as a nurse for the past 20 years in a variety of jobs; medical surgical, outpatient surgery, endoscopy lab, office nurse, public health nurse and my personal favorite and current position as a Home Health nurse. I was born and raised in Montgomery County, residing in New Florence. My husband and I have been married for 17 years with two beautiful teenage daughters. I enjoy working and serving the wonderful people in this community through the Montgomery County Health Department.

Tracey Kreuger | RN

Hi, my name is Tracey Kreuger, and I was born and raised in rural Montgomery County.  I am one of the home health nurses here at Montgomery County Health Department.  I previously spent ten years working here from 2000-2010 as a Public Health Nurse and Health Promotion Nurse.  I received my nursing degree from Hannibal-Lagrange College in 1994.  My other nursing experience includes working as the Director of Nursing for Jonesburg and Silex Skilled Nursing Facilities and working as a Hospice nurse case manager.  I have been married to my husband Tommy for 32 years.  We have four grown children, Lindsey, Jordan, Sydney, and Shelby.  We are also blessed with seven grandchildren!  I love working as a nurse in our rural area because the patients are so appreciative and grateful for our services.  I hope to complete my nursing career right here in the county I reside!

Robin Overkamp | EPHS/Emergency Planner

My name is Robin Overkamp. I am the Environmental Public Health Specialist and the Emergency Planner here at MCHD. I have been employed by the Montgomery County Health Department since March of 2016. I have worn many hats here at the Health Department and I am happy to help where I can. I was raised in Montgomery City. My husband Randy and I have two daughters— Chasity and her husband Justin, and Jessica and her husband Josh. We also two grandchildren. We love spending time with our family and friends.

Hi, my name is Amy Schlanker. I am a public health nurse/Environmental Specialist at Montgomery County Health Department. I grew up in Montgomery County and graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 2013. I started my nursing career in 2015 as an LPN and graduated with my BSN from the University of Central Missouri in 2017. Throughout my career I have worked in corrections, oncology, gastroenterology, and surgical services. I have been married to my husband, Clayton, who also grew up in Montgomery County since 2021.
